Tom McMillan FACP has dedicated much of his clinical career to the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy in private practice. He is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and a director of the Physio Plus Group.
Tom was awarded his specialist title as a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2014 in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Tom provides clinical musculoskeletal physiotherapy in the Mackay and Whitsunday regions along with visiting services to a number of regional areas through the Physio Plus group of clinics.
His clinical interests include back pain, neck pain, and persistent pain and rehabilitation. Tom enjoys treating complex presentations and welcomes patients where other treatment has failed.
Tom manages inpatient physiotherapy services for the Mackay Mater Hospital and several local aged care facilities. Tom has also provided clinical services in the public health system as a acting Clinical Leader for the Physiotherapy Screening Clinic at the Mackay Base Hospital.
Tom is a current member of the Mackay Hospital and Health Board and the Queensland Clinical Senate. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at James Cook University in the School of Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences.
He was awarded the Australian Rural and Remote Health Professional Scholarship for postgraduate study in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2007. He was also a finalist in the 2010 Australian Institute of Management Manager of the Year (Owner Manager, Mackay).
Tom has lives in Mackay with his wife Kristine and Labrador dog Jessie.
Tom has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Master in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from La Trobe University.
