Michael Ranger

Michael has dedicated the majority of his clinical career to the field of sports physiotherapy in private practice. He is a director of the Physio Plus Group.

Michael provides clinical sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy out of the Physio Plus Footscray practice situated at the Whitten Oval in West Footscray, Melbourne. Michael completed approximately 4 years at Physio Plus Mackay between 2006 and 2009 before Physio Plus Footscray was opened.

His clinical interests include sports related groin and hip pain, complex shoulder issues as well as soft tissue rehabilitation. Michael enjoys the challenge of treating patients with clear ideas of timelines for return to sport as well as complicated presentations of varying nature.

Michael is the practice principal at Physio Plus Footscray and is a titled member of the APA having completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 2010. 2013 is the fourth year that Michael has been providing service to the Western Bulldogs AFL and Williamstown VFL Football Clubs. His close association with treatment of the players at these clubs allows for honing of the skills necessary for diagnosis and progression of treatment of athletes from the local to elite level.

Personally, Michael continues to enjoy running having been heavily involved in competition throughout high school and university as well as playing any social sport to stay fit. He was also captain of St Patrick’s College in Ballarat way back in the year 2000 and wishes he was good enough to have played in the school first XVIII but wasn’t up to scratch!

Michael has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Master in Sports Physiotherapy from La Trobe University.
